”Danielle Caruana is one of most entertaining, skilled and effective public communicators I’ve ever worked with.  Comical, yet wise, and deeply intelligent. Her ability to command a room while touching hearts is so very rare. A natural born facilitator, speaker, mentor, and teacher - it’s just in her DNA to ask questions that change lives for the better, and she does. Her style is inclusive and charismatic.

It is also playful, yet serious in just the moments when seriousness is required. She makes audiences think, laugh, and sometimes even cry, all in aid of helping us connect to what is most true, and most powerful, within us. Truly one of Australia’s most commanding, original, and entertaining speakers.”

I have seen Danielle facilitate workshops, speak at major events, perform her music on stage, manage her social media voice to best outcomes, and become a dynamic leader and storyteller crossing over from Music Industry into women’s issues and broader social commentary.

Danielle has a very unique combination of wisdom and understanding, patience and empathy, as well as the ability to rattle cages and speak the truths that other shirk away from.  She listens before she speaks. She weighs up situations before making assumptions, and she engages multiple voices in order to ascertain truth.  Her capacity to take her time and assess before she leaps is one of her secret weapons, because you can be sure that by the time she speaks she has an arsenal of well thought-out information and fact at hand for delivery.

That being said, Danielle can also be spontaneous with a killer sense of humour and comedic timing, and the ability to ‘work the room’ on the fly.  She brings out the best in people through her relaxed and approachable nature and her genuine love of people and dialogue.  As a facilitator and moderator she is inquisitive and entertaining, and can flow with the needs of a room, or indeed a very large crowd.  She is heart led, which means she can move off script with comfort if she feels a conversation needs to take another direction as opposed to taking a tunnel visioned academic approach to a topic.  This capacity means she can dig deep and take people places they didn’t expect to go but are ultimately glad they did.

Danielle is a way-shower – she lights the way forward for people. She doesn’t spoon feed or condescend.  She supports people to discover their innate capacity, and encourages them forward through coaching, mirroring, championing, informing, creating between people where she sees synergy, and through believing in people.

Danielle is only just stepping in to her super-powers, and I am intrigued and excited to see where the next chapter of her journey takes her and those lucky enough to bask in her light.

“I worked closely with Danielle as part of the Future Makers Program, developed by the Seed Fund. I watched Danielle over a week completely envelope 35 emerging leaders with support, respect and safety. I witnessed her holding space for the contributors (all experts in their own fields) to do their best work, and her masterful facilitation of deep, important discussions.

Danielle is an exquisite speaker, thought provoker, gentle crusader of creativity, honesty and justice. You'll hang on her every word, feel held in every breath and narrative about the importance of being true to yourself, your craft, and the people around you. You'll be in awe of her leadership, her generosity of spirit, her experience and knowledge, and her humour.

As an experienced facilitator and coach, I learnt alot from Dan over the week we were together. She's wise, captivating, and lives her life like only we could all hope for: without a mask, open and expressive, funny and earnest, full of maternal and feminine wisdom, and with the courage to talk about the big topics, such as equality, transparency, fairness, human rights, self-love and leadership.”

“We had Mama Kin come and give songwriting masterclasses at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) to our Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Bachelor of Contemporary Music students.

Her masterclasses were outstanding. She is an incredible communicator who inspired hundreds of students in the space of three hours. It was incredible to watch her work her magic and see the students become enlightened and energised to begin their songwriting journeys.

She can deliver a lyric in a way that I’ve never heard before, it is pure genius. Working with her and watching her work with our students was its own poetry. Aside from her ability to deliver the method behind the magic, Mama Kin’s music is straight from the soul. It’s raw, real, and always leaves a lasting impression on your emotions.

She is one of a kind”.

Be warned! Danielle Caruana will light the fire in you- her writing, her songs, her workshops are alchemical- helping us meet the raw, sometimes buried parts of our selves so we can then turn them into gold! A regular contributor to Dumbo Feather, Danielle tells stories that shimmer and guides interviews with empathy and potent curiosity. As facilitator for The School of Life and Small Giants Academy, she has taken storytelling groups on journeys of self-reveal, helping participants find scintillating metaphors and descriptive details that capture the extraordinary nature of their lives. Full of spirit, talented beyond words and did I say potent?? - Danielle's is a voice that cuts through the noise - a much-adored leader in our community.

Danielle provides insight and experience that is invaluable to workers in the music industry. As a self-managed artist who also runs The Seed Future Makers Management Program, she is across all aspects of an artist’s career, and sees the perspective from both an industry worker side, and an artist side.

Quite often in the music industry, the needs of the artist can be left by the wayside, as most workers do not have direct access to the artists that they work with. Danielle voices those artist’s perspectives in a passionate and diplomatic way, providing an artist experience that is not often heard from.

Village Sounds Agency recently got Danielle on a call just to check in and discuss the industry.  What we received was 45mins of in-depth industry discussion that we as a company felt very honoured to be on the receiving end of.

Her vast career, her work as a voice in so many different spaces, and her knowledge across all aspects of the industry, both from being a self-managed artist and also running The Seed management workshop for so many years, lends to a high level of respect.

I always feel inspired after speaking with Danielle, it lights a fire under me to keep going with the work I’m doing.
